Measurement of Monomolecular Layers Using Specialized FTIR Grazing Angle Accessories

چکیده
The analysis of monomolecular layers has traditionally been a challenging spectroscopic measurement due to the relatively low signal obtained from the sample. Specular reflectance at high “grazing” angles (around 80 degrees from normal to the surface) has been recognized as one of the best spectroscopic techniques to monitor monomolecular layers on reflective surfaces due to the enhancement of the infrared signal(1, 2). The versatility of this sampling technique is further optimized using different specialized grazing angle accessories.

متن کاملNanoparticle Layers Assembled through DNA Hybridization: Characterization and Optimization
The hybridization of nanoparticle-labeled DNA targets to surface-attached DNA probes has been investigated. Scanning tunneling microscopy (STM) and Raman and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy were used to elucidate surface morphology, coverage, and the presence of aggregates. The factors that affect surface coverage, such as probe density, labeled target concentration, and particle...
متن کاملEffect of Curved Path Monopulse Radar Platform’s Grazing Angle on Height of Floated Targets Detection
Monopulse radarsare one of the most accurate tracking radars used to guide various platforms. Detection and tracking of surface targets with these radars are performed in order to point strike targets. Sea clutter presents challenges for detecting floated targets and in addition to affecting detection height, it can cause errors in monopulse angle finding. In this paper, the airborne monopulse ...

The well known sin2p method for macro-stress measurement elaborated for BraggBrentano geometry has some disadvantage e.g. penetration depth of X-ray beam varies during m.easurement. This is particularly important in the case of coatings or surface layers where residual stresses appear with large gradients, The new version of the sin’v method, named gsin’w (based on the grazing angle scattering ...
